Photographs are my love language. They always have been. They speak to me with a power that words simply can’t touch. Even when I was little I found something special about gathering a group and hearing that shutter button click. But it wasn’t until I became a nurse that I really knew why.
My years as an oncology nurse have shown me in an up-close-and-personal way how fragile life is. My patients have taught me that life is a gift and it’s worth clinging to. And not just the big, important-seeming moments; but also the ordinary. The everyday. The tight hugs and spontaneous kisses from little ones and the mornings spent in a favorite pair of PJs sipping coffee with the ones we love. After all, it’s those not-so-glamorous and beautifully simple moments that mark our memories and shape our stories. And as my patients would tell you, those are the moments that are worth capturing and holding onto forever.
As a lifestyle photographer, I’m continually inspired by the wonder of love and the goodness of grace. I photograph portraits, motherhood, families, children, and newborns with a casual, lovingly ordinary twist. I bring the camera; you bring your favorite pair of jeans and a slice of your everyday life. Though I currently live in the D.C. area, I’m still very much a Virginian at heart and am available for travel. I would love the chance to help tell your story.
